With the heat on IPL saga still not settled there is already a lot of confusion and politics that has taken over the Patna’s IPL team. The controversy started when the Lallu Yadav’s name was dropped from the team’s Logo. The old logo carried the team’s name “Lallu’s Phatka Masters” but the new proposed logo does not carry any name.
It is apparently believed that Lallu Yadav owns a majority stake in the team along with the famous Desdrohi aka ‘Kamal Rashid Khan’. We also have unconfirmed reports that Sanichar Charawala, one of Lallu’s close friends from the Chara Ghotala (Fodder Scam) days also owns a minor stake in the team. The exact owners are not known yet and more light on this can only be brought into this matter after the CBI enquiry.
Commenting on the development Lalluji said that “Maalik ka naam photu mein nahin rakhenge toh kaise chalega”. He added that other teams have their owner’s name so why not Patna’s team. Basanti, Lallu’s Buffalo, also added a word of insight in the situation and said, “mooooooo!”.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni who has been pulled in as captain of the team, in a candid interview said, “I had to accept the offer else my house would have been shattered again. Though, i proposed that the team name be changed from LALLU PHATKA MASTERS to LALLU KI SENA.” He added, “With a name like Sena, i can ride my one of the 22 bikes but if i am called Phatka Master then i would need to buy a moped.”
The team currently has only one sponsor that too a little known ‘Chapraa Pashu Ahar Kendra’. The teams home ground is a field behind Lallu’s home which was his Gaushala (cattle shelter) a week before, this was the main reason that the only sponsor was attracted.
Speaking on the whole controversy the emerging leader and CM of Bihar Nitish Kumar said, “Being a Bihar’s team, it should include Bihar’s name.” To which Lalluji proudly said, “Hum hi Bihar hoon (i am Bihar)”. Nitish also added, “We will be discussing the issue in today’s session at Vidhaan Sabha and also deciding on the reservation in the team. The opposition is demanding 2 Yadavs, 1 Rai, 1 Pandey and 1 Paswan in the team which we do not agree to.” It is believed that the team will also have 3 players from neighbouring Nepal to meet the IPL norms of foreign players.
Brand guru Prahalaad Kakkar commenting on the logo said, “The new logo is definitely better. It shows cricket kindling inside the lantern and gives a bright vibe about the future of the team. I had proposed a similar thing for Chirag Computers and only few people confused it with a Matchbox brand.” On Lallu Yadav’s media reactions he said, “It is always difficult to convince the clients initially but with some personal flattery they can always be controlled. In this case we plan to show his son’s hand holding the lantern logo. Lalluji will definitely lower his fume.”
Manoj Tiwari the sensational Bhojpuri singer has been chosen as the brand ambassador of the team who will be seen dancing with the cheer leaders. While everyone has agreed to the team dress, a combo of some very flashy, bright green and bright red, it seems we will have to wait a bit to see which logo and name Patna’s IPL team will adopt.
